At camp, students are thrown into disequilibrium, and in that state, instead of deflecting or dodging hard questions; they stop, listen, and consider them.

Here in Tauranga, Otumoetai Church of Christ is currently going through a series on “Knowing God”. Knowing God & Making Him Known has been our mission statement and this series is the beginning of a (re)visioning process we will be going through. As a congregation we want to seek out God’s will and plan for us as a body and know how He wants us to be working in His world to further His Kingdom.

Three months have passed since beginning the new congregation in Palermo. However, we feel that we have been together for a long time. We’ve shared all kinds of experiences which have helped us to grow together as a group. During the time spent in home groups, which began in April, we have had the chance to reflect on the life of the first Christians based on the Book of Acts.

All of the school staff have begun a process of delving into the true problems that are the root of so much evil here in Santa Maria. We are praying that God will reveal these problems to us and show us how we can begin to change the hearts of Santa Maria. This can be a scary, yet powerful journey, so please pray that we rely on God’s power and not our own during this time.
