Global Missions Update

Thirty Days of Prayer
Beginning Saturday, June 28, for thirty days our Muslim friends around the world will be fasting and praying in celebration of Ramadan. Over the next month, let’s make a focused but respectful effort to learn about, pray for, and reach out to Muslim neighbors. A brief synopsis of each day’s prayer request will be shared each day online at HarpethHills.org.

These pearls are worthy of your love. And they are worthy of your sacrifice. But we must remember the girls of the Pearl House are not the only Pearls out there; there are many, many more. Living in the Northern region of Ghana, the slums of India, the streets of China. Wherever we find ourselves. In plenty or in want…our task is singular. It is to love, no matter the cost.

NationsUniversity
Please be in prayer for a particular NationsUniversity student in the Middle East. We cannot reveal his identity, but he represents many who suffer every day in the name of the Lord. This man finished his bachelor’s degree with NU a couple of years ago, and has been studying with over 100 people who come to his apartment and login to the NU site for Bible study. He was recently arrested and tortured for his Christian beliefs. After narrowly escaping, he has since warned his students about such risks. Please pray this man, his students, and all our Christian brothers and sisters in the Middle East.

SPBC students spent this year’s Outreach Week blessing the Tauranga community and the Otumoetai Church of Christ. Students volunteered at SPBC’s IMPACT Day, Salvation Army, and the Merivale Community Centre. They sang at a nursing home, did visitation, surveyed the Brookfield community on “GO Sunday,” and did a $15 Challenge where they spontaneously blessed a stranger.
