Two overnight bus rides and a retreat later, here we are in Buenos Aires! The past weekend has been an incredible blessing to more than one group of people. We held the same “Love Your Enemies” retreat that we did in Maximo Paz for the people of Córdoba, and it was an awesome success!
We got to meet a whole new congregation and see how they are spreading the gospel in their own little corner of the world, and I can speak for all of us when I say that it was one of the most encouraging parts of the trip. We spent more time in bi-lingual worship and discussion just as we would if we were at home.
After the retreat ended on Sunday, we headed back to the church in Córdoba and prepared for an evening worship service conducted by the members of the church. This allowed us to enter into their daily life routine and spend more time in fellowship with the congregation.
After the service, as I was saying good bye to a friend, she wished us good travels, but then told me something I’ll never forget. “Las Iglesias in Córdoba u los Estados Unidos son hermanos en Cristo y también in todos los países. Grasias a Dios.” – “The Churches in Córdoba and the United States are brothers, it’s the same in every country. Thanks be to God.”
This is the number one thing we’ve learned on this trip. All Christians are united under the same belief and the same God, which means we have more in common than we could ever dream of.
So here we are, sitting in the church in Buenos Aires once again! But this time, for the last time.
We are thankful for all who have helped us get to where we are today; one of these people is the wonderful Ashley Musick, who has spent the last 5 years in Argentina as a missionary. Without her, this trip wouldn’t have happened. The same can be said for many other people, but the Glory goes to God.
This is likely our last update, seeing as the next time we’ll have internet is in Atlanta. Thank you for all your prayers and support. It has been a real blessing. Peace out Harpeth Hills!
