Prison Ministry

During the first week of June, the Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry hosts a summer camp for children with parents behind bars.

Camp COPE takes place at Whispering Pines Camp in Castalian Springs, TN. COPE stands for “Children Obtaining Positive Encouragement.” Activities include Bible classes, devotionals, crafts, swimming, boating, archery and group games. The campers stay in cabins and enjoy a great week in growing closer to each other and to God. After camp, campers are paired with a volunteer for mentoring to assist them while separated from an incarcerated parent and with family reunification when parents are released. School Supplies School supplies and backpacks are also given to those who attend Camp COPE.

Full scholarships are provided. You can send a child to camp for only $150.
