Prison Ministry

Through the years Harpeth Hills has been blessed with the opportunity to begin and support several ministry initiatives in the Nashville area. Healing Hands, Agape and Nashville Inner City were all started or significantly supported for years with the help of Harpeth Hills.

Another one of “our” ministries is Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry. It was one of our elders who went to Texas and hired the first Director, Ron Goodman, and the shepherds at Harpeth Hills served as the Board of the Prison Ministry for decades. Our partnership with the Prison Ministry has been a fruitful one, and we continue to support it every year in a significant way from our budget.

We are biased, of course, but we believe TPOM is an outstanding ministry. Thomas Snow and his staff are doing amazing kingdom work.

These are exciting times for TPOM. The new re-entry center near the Fairgrounds is a game changer for those returning to the work force from prison. And the construction of a halfway house next door to this facility will be a valuable addition. Baptizing a prisoner when he or she is behind bars is one thing; helping the individual stay out of prison and re-enter society is another.

To support these efforts, we will have a special contribution for the Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry Sunday, May 22. We are asking you to make a sacrificial gift. You can contribute online by using the appropriate drop-down box, or you can mail your contribution to the church. Finally, you can put your contribution in the plate Sunday.

In addition to a contribution, TPOM needs numerous volunteers. They will be with us Sunday to explain the various opportunities to get involved.

Thank you for opening your heart to this ministry.
