Proverbs 13:1

The difference between the Old Testament reading and the Gospel reading today is just remarkable. The somber story of the destruction of the city of Jericho, followed by the sin of Achan found in Joshua versus the joy filled story of the Prodigal Son in Luke.

Now those are contrasting stories.
