Reading for Today–April 13
Joshua 7:16-9:2
Luke 16:1-18
Psalm 82:1-8
Proverbs 13:2-3
At this stage of life, when I see something new in the scriptures, I assume I may have actually seen it before but have since forgotten it. I have certainly noticed this when I prepare sermons and look at old notes.
In Luke 16, right after Jesus says you cannot serve God and money, we have this note.
“The Pharisees, who dearly loved their money, naturally scoffed at all this.”
Luke 16:14
I don’t have an astute observation about this editorial comment that Luke adds. But I do think it is cool the things you see in the Bible that you had forgotten long ago, or the things you seemingly see for the first time.
So the Pharisees dearly loved their money. I get it.
