One Year Bible Post from Chris Smith: April 8

Reading for Today–April 8
Deuteronomy 32:28-52
Luke 12:35-59
Psalm 78:56-64
Proverbs 12:24

“They turned back and were as faithless as their parents had been.
They were as useless as a crooked bow.”

Psalm 78:57

Reading Psalm 78 is anything but pleasant. In fact it is kind of depressing. All that violence and descriptions of faithlessness. Yuk!

Yet, in these depressing words we can truly see ourselves and make the needed corrections. Due to the current crisis, we may have already “called out” our lack of gratitude for the ugliness that it is. Now we have learned to be genuinely thankful for a 12-pack of toilet paper and a roof over our heads and no one running a fever in our house.

Two of the best words in the English language?

Thank you.
