Children’s Moment for May 3, 2020

We hope that your family is able to enjoy the children’s moment that is provided along with the sermon for each Sunday. These online lessons are able to be viewed whenever is best for you, and can be accessed at any time from our website under Church Family Resources. This week’s children’s moment will be based on the story of God Helps the Israelite’s cross the Red Sea, with the message that God Can Help us When We  Are Afraid. In advance of this week’s lesson, we have included a few extra resources to help you learn a little bit more.

Coloring Sheet: As you color this, imagine how the Israelites must have been afraid, but crossed the Red Sea anyway.

Parting the Red Sea Word Search: God’s people put their trust in Him and his servant Moses. Our God can do amazing things!

Crossing the Red Sea Craft: Use these figures and whatever blue paper you have to create this scene.

Ocean I Spy: While the Red Sea is not an “ocean,” it does contain a vast array of underwater sea life and it a popular place to scuba dive. Can you find all these underwater creatures?

• Red Sea Snack: Use graham crackers, blue icing, and fish sprinkles to make this tasty treat. If you don’t have the supplies, enjoy some Goldfish crackers instead.

• I Wonder: This one is all about your imagination! Draw a picture from the story of the Exodus from Egypt. What all will be in your picture?

I Will Trust and Obey: Make a path out of paper or a brown paper bag. Draw feet (or paint the bottoms of your feet & step on the path) all the way across the path. Even when we are afraid, God will walk along our path if we trust and obey.
