Covid-19 Update

Harpeth Hills Family,

As we contemplate when we can meet again for worship at Harpeth Hills, we continue to follow the guidelines from the Mayor’s office. The earliest that it is recommended that groups of 100 gather is June 8. Therefore, we are canceling all activities at the building through Sunday, June 7. Next week, we will send out a survey to all church members to help us better plan what it will look like when we do meet again on Sundays.

We also want to let you know that the Camp Hy-lake Board met recently and reached the difficult decision to close the Camp for the summer of 2020. Below is a portion of the letter that was sent to camp directors.

“These decisions have not come in haste and have been prayerfully considered for some time now. Discussions have been held with state/county officials, medical personnel, and others to gain as much insight as possible. We have also carefully evaluated directives provided by the State of Tennessee, with particular attention to guidance on gathering sizes and faith-based community initiatives.

It is clear to the Board that allowing camp gatherings at Hy-Lake for the summer of 2020 is not wise or feasible and would be counter to the guidance referenced above. Given outside interactions with vendors and caterers, the rolling timeline for gatherings to increase in size, the necessity of cleaning after each gathering, and the inability to socially distance for eating, sleeping and other activities, results in there being just too many factors to overcome. Therefore, the Board has requested that Hy-Lake Christian Camp be closed for the 2020 camp season and reservations already booked for this summer be cancelled…”

As a group of elders, we pray for you daily. We thank you for your continued patience and perseverance.
