Dear Harpeth Hills Family,

We have so missed you! Every week since our world changed in March, we have prayed for the day that we are together again in person. We are overjoyed that we will begin seeing some of you this Sunday. Harpeth Hills Together!

Even though we have been apart, we have been doing our part because we are set apart as followers of Jesus Christ to change the world around us. Desmond Tutu says it well: “Do your little part of good where you are; it is those little bits of good put all together that overwhelm the world.” Jesus is even better at “one upping,” so listen to His words: “Your lives light up the world. Let others see your light from a distance, for how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so the commendable things you do will shine as light upon them, and then they will give praise to your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:14-16 (TPT)

While we have been apart, you have been doing your part in allowing the “light of Christ” to shine through you to others. Here are some examples of “those little bits of good that overwhelm the world.”

• Making masks for the retirement community you live in
• Bringing food to Harpeth Hills to feed the hungry of our community
• Giving generously of both time and money
• Sharing the good news of Christ with the confused neighbor or the stranger you meet unexpectantly
• Daily messages through social media
• Students engaging in weekly video and in-person devotionals
• Families taking turns leading through the Children’s Moment
• House churches springing up all over our community

We want to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude. While the world around us stood still, the followers of Jesus at Harpeth Hills continued to be on mission, joining Christ in advancing His Kingdom!
