A Note from Our Shepherds: September 6, 2020

Dear Harpeth Hills Family,

We hope everyone had a good and productive week. For families with children in school, our prayer has been that the transition to school-year schedules has been as smooth as possible. With school looking so different from what it did a year ago, we understand the anxiety that goes along with all this change. It is obvious that the Harpeth Hills family is learning to adjust, be flexible, and open to new ideas. We thank our ministry staff and all others involved for the wonderful job that has been done with worship options and online studies.

Through new transitions, remember Paul’s exhortation:

…The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:5b-6

As Paul reminds the Philippians, the Lord is near, and He guards our hearts and minds. The Lord is there for you. Be aware each week as you read these letters that we are also here for you. We are not numb to the fact that there are families still struggling through this season. If you happen to be one of those having a difficult time right now, please reach out to someone you are comfortable with: a close friend, your Barnabas Leader, or a Shepherd with whom you are close. We want to serve you or put you in touch with needed resources.

Your Shepherds put a lot of trust in prayer, and we have witnessed the answers to so many over the past several months. As a part of our church body, you are prayed for daily. We remember the words in 1 John 5:14:

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

We love and care about each one of you.

Blessings,

-Your Shepherds
