Focal Point: Seeing Your Calling with Jesus
Text: Acts 9:15-19 and Romans 12:14-21
15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is an instrument whom I have chosen to bring my name before
Gentiles and kings and before the people of Israel; 16 I myself will show him how much he must suffer for
the sake of my name.” 17 So Ananias went and entered the house. He laid his hands on Saul[a] and said,
“Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on your way here, has sent me so that you may
regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 And immediately something like scales fell from
his eyes, and his sight was restored. Then he got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he
regained his strength. Acts 9:15-19
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep
with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the
lowly;[a] do not claim to be wiser than you are. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for
what is noble in the sight of all. 18 If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with
all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God;[b] for it is written,
“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 No, “if your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are
thirsty, give them something to drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on their heads.” 21 Do
not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:14-21
