While our church families will be having “home” church again, we thought it would be fun to offer up an easy recipe for Communion Bread. This is a great activity for you to do as a family. This spiritual ritual reminds us of the sacrifice Christ made for us, the quiet reflections allow us to center our thoughts on Christ and gives hope for the day we will be with Jesus in heaven. Hope that you will take this “staying at home” season to share these moments with your child.
3 cups plain flour 1 cup Crisco/coconut oil/butter
2 teaspoons salt 1 cup ice water
Cut shortening into flour. Add salt and mix in. Use a fork to blend in ice water, and knead into a floured surface. Roll out to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shape and size. Bake on cookie sheet for about 20 minutes at 375 degrees. This recipe can easily be halved. Enjoy!
