One Year Bible Post from Chris Smith: April 16

Reading for Today–April 16
Joshua 13:1-14:15
Luke 18:1-17
Psalm 85:1-13
Proverbs 13:7-8

Caleb comes to Joshua with a request. He wants the hill country of Hebron that had been promised to him years ago. Despite the fact that he is 85, he says “I am as strong now as I was when Moses sent me on that journey, and I can still travel and fight as well as I could then.”

Impressive.

I think of numerous older Christians who have had the spirit of Caleb. They have no intention of slowing down on the Lord and retire is not in their vocabulary. I think of an 88-year-old man who takes a 55-year-old to the doctor and to church, and would occasionally drive 200 miles to visit a prisoner in another town.

Impressive indeed.
